TRC-1280 Installation Manual
Introduction
The TRC-1280 delivers two-way instant connect Wi-Fi technology to your Total Control System. It installs with
the MRX-10 Advanced Network System Controller and communicates using 2.4GHz technology. The TRC-1280
receives two-way system feedback such as album cover art from the PSX-2 and SNP-1. It can also receive two-
way feedback from all URC AVR status modules, internet information feeds, climate control devices, energy
management systems, URC cameras and URC lighting. The system is also scalable and can be built to control
multiple zones of source equipment as needed. The TRC-1280 features a programmable “ROOMS” LCD button
that facilitates room monitoring by compiling all of your programmed data for every room in the system, all
without any additional configuration! In a multi-zone Total Control system, sources can be linked together
from different zones using Universal Remote Control’s groundbreaking room linking technology. Linked audio
sources are sent via streams over the network to and from DMS-1200 or DMS-100 amplifiers.
Whether you specify one TRC-1280 or multiple TRC-1280s depends on the total number of users per
installation, up to 32 TRC-1280s can reside in any one system.
Programming of the TRC-1280 is performed using one
simple application - URC Accelerator (see URC Accelerator
Programming Reference Guide).

Rooms Button:
The ROOMS button allows you to monitor
the status of components and also enables room linking
using the ROOMS module. Users can temporarily link
rooms to listen to the same source or control volume or
mute for multiple rooms simultaneously (when using DMS
series amps). You can check out what the kids are
watching in the bedroom, and even check the volume in
adjacent rooms and adjust as necessary. The ROOMS
module can be disabled if preferred. If disabled, pressing
the ROOMS button will indicate that the ROOMS Module
is currently off.
Haptic Feedback:
The TRC-1280 features an Active Matrix
color TFT display with vibrating haptic feedback
technology. Upon the touch of an LCD button, the screen
will vibrate to confirm button presses.
