Chapter

10-5.

Disposing lithium batteries

When disposing the UPM100, remove the lithium batteries and make sure to dispose them
according to classification of waste collection.
Additionally, turn the power off and wait for a while to discharge the internal condenser.

Detaching lithium batteries

Disconnect all attached cables if connected.

Remove the top cover. Remove the four screws (two on each side).

Unplug the connector at the tip of the cable of the lithium battery.
Pinch the connector and pull hard to unplug.

Remove the screw fixing the nylon clamp and remove the lithium battery.

Use nippers and so on to cut the red and black cables one by one from the base of
the lithium battery to prevent short circuit.

* Be sure to dispose lithium batteries according to classification of waste
collection.
