7-2. Equivalent Circuit (input)
Signal input is performed by closing and opening the input terminals, namely between
the input terminal and COM. Contact devices (such as relay and switch) and non-
contact devices (such as transistor, open-collector TTL) can be used for this purpose.
7-3. Equivalent Circuit (output)
An open-collector transistor constitutes the signal output circuit.

Use external devices that allow more than 10mA of Ic to flow.

Use a customer supplied external power source (Vext) to drive the relay.
Do not short-circuit the load (e.g. relay coil); this may damage the
output transistor.
Connect a surge absorber or spark arrestor across the relay circuit (both
coil and contact sides), as shown in the figure, to suppress surge voltage.
