9. UWC 8803 Wall Panel
Connection
Before connecting the wall panel it is mandatory to switch the UMM 8800 off.
The transfer of the audio and control signals happens via RJ 45 cable.
At the screw terminals AUDIO OUT + and AUDIO OUT the audio signals of the mic inputs are additionally
available.
Connect the RJ 45 connector of the wall unit with the REMOTE WALL CONTROL connector of the respective
zone at the UMM 8800.
To enable the remote control the ENABLE/DISABLE switch has to be in the ENABLE position.
If the length oft he connection cable exceeds 150m it can be necessary to use an additional 24V DC. There is a
screw terminal at the back side of the wall panel.
A power supply UPS 8800 for in wall use is optionally available. It’s small dimensions (50x50x24mm) allows it to
be integrated into a 55mm in wall box.
Operation
Additional microphones can be connected to the MIC1 and MIC2 inputs.
The input sensitivity is 10mV.
The volume of these inputs can be adjusted by the LEVEL controls next to the inputs.
In addition you can adjust for optimum sound quality with the HI / LO tone controls.
The MUTE key allows to switch off the selected source of UMM 8800.
The audio signal of the MIC inputs is always mixed with the zone output.
Information:
The MIC signals of the wall panel are always available at the REMOTE SOURCE connector of the UMM 8800.
These signals can i.e. being fed into a LINE input oft he UMM 8800 via an external connection.
This makes it possible to use the local inputs of the wall panel also in all other zones.
