In accordance with DIN EN 60079-0, as well as the inner

earth connection, version type “Xn” solenoid actuators
have an additional outer earth connection,
with a conducting connection between them. The outer
earth connection is suitable for connecting a maximum
of two equipotential bonding conductors, each with a
cross- section of up to 6mm².

Protective conductor connection
The solenoid actuator must always be integrated in the equipo-
tential bonding. A connecting facility is available for this
purpose in the vicinity of the magnetic coil connecting terminal.

The solenoid drive must additionally be earthed
via the external earthing connection on the
housing.
