• Nozzle lifting
The Ultimaker 3 has a nozzle lifting system to ensure that the inactive nozzle is out of the way while the other one
is printing. The first print core is fixed in place, while the second print core can be raised or lowered. The Ultimaker
3 does this by moving the print head towards the switch bay, which places the lifting switch to the front or back.
• Excellent cooling
The print head of the Ultimaker 3 has three fans. The two radial fans at the side cool the model during printing for
optimal surface quality. The front fan cools the print cores, to ensure that the heat does not travel too far upwards.
