4.2.1
Safety warnings review the structure
•
Equipment for building-in. Requirements for fire enclosure must be evaluated in the end product
•
The clearance and creepage current distances required by the end product must be withheld when
the module is installed
•
The cooling of the end product shall not negatively be influenced by the installation of the module
•
Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss
•
No natural rubbers, no hygroscopic materials nor materials containing asbestos are employed
4.2.2
Declaration of conformity
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules and with the ISED Canada license-exempt RSS
standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
•
this device may not cause harmful interference
•
this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause
undesired operation

Radiofrequency radiation exposure Information: this equipment complies with FCC radiation
exposure limits prescribed for an uncontrolled environment for fixed and mobile use conditions.
This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20 cm between the
radiator and the body of the user or nearby persons. This transmitter must not be co-located or
operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter except in accordance with FCC
procedures and as authorized in the module certification filing.

The gain of the system antenna(s) used for the modules (i.e. the combined transmission line,
connector, cable losses and radiating element gain) must not exceed the value specified in the FCC
Grant for mobile and/or fixed operating configurations
4.2.3
Modifications
The FCC requires the user to be notified that any changes or modifications made to this device that
are not expressly approved by u-blox could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

Manufacturers of mobile or fixed devices incorporating LENA-R8 series modules are authorized to
use the FCC Grants of the LENA-R8 series modules for their own final products according to the
conditions referenced in the certificates.

The FCC Label shall in the above case be visible from the outside, or the host device shall bear a
second label stating: "Contains FCC ID: XPYUBX22EL01" resp.

IMPORTANT: Manufacturers of portable applications incorporating the LENA-R8 series modules
are required to have their final product certified and apply for their own FCC Grant related to the
specific portable device. This is mandatory to meet the SAR requirements for portable devices.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could
void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

Additional Note: Part 15 limits of the FCC Rules for a Class B digital device are designed to provide
reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment
generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this
