For your safety
The product is designed according to the state of the art. However, residual risks still exist. Ob-
serve the following warnings and safety regulations to prevent danger to persons and property.
Turck accepts no liability for damage caused by failure to observe these warning and safety
instructions.
3.1
Intended use
These devices are designed only for use in industrial areas.
The ultrasonic sensors in the High-End series detect the presence of solid or liquid objects and
the distance to those objects without making physical contact. The devices are suitable for use
both in Zone 2 and in Zone 22.
The devices must only be used as described in this manual. Any other use is not in accordance
with the intended use; Turck accepts no liability for any resulting damage.
3.2
Obvious misuse

The devices are not safety components and may not be used for personal or property
protection.
3.3
General safety instructions
■
The device may only be assembled, installed, operated, set up, parameterized and maintained
by professionally trained personnel.
■
The devices only meet the EMC requirements for industrial areas and are not suitable for use
in residential areas.
■
The device may only be used in accordance with applicable national and international regula-
tions, standards and laws.
■
The sensor is not able to detect all objects equally well. Check whether the desired object is
recognized before regular operation.
■
Strong air movements can disturb the correct function of the sensor and corrupt the mea-
sured values. Avoid air currents between the sensor and the object being detected.
