Using the SAM-Q-SDI with InfluxDB and Grafana

Any SAM-Q-SDI equipped with the optional SAM-Q-LOUD LIC Loudness license can be configured to send
Momentary, Short-Term and Integrated loudness data over an Ethernet network see page 79

The SAM-Q-SDI issues loudness data as UDP packets which can then be logged using an instance of
InfluxDB.

To set up InfluxDB:

1.

Visit

https://www.influxdata.com/

and install InfluxDB making sure to follow the installation

instructions provided.

2.

Make sure that UDP input is enabled in the influxdb.conf file. For further information on how to
do this, search

influxdata.com udp protocol support

3.

The bind address value in influxdb.conf must match the Port setting as set on the SAM-Q-SDI (see
below)

Please note that the default Port setting for InfluxDB on the SAM-Q-SDI is 8089 (see page 79)

4.

Note that in the example above, all SAM-Q-SDI Loudness values will be written to a Database
named tsl.

5.

To display the Loudness data stored by InfluxDB, you can create your own custom dashboards
using Grafana. For information on how to install Grafana, please see page 79
