Description
The CL-70v-6UL is the perfect solution for those
who need premium sound quality along with great
vocal clarity. It has a 6.5” poly driver and a .75” PEI
tweeter, giving a wide dispersion pattern and letting
you use less speakers in a given space.
Choosing the Speaker Location
Before you install your speakers you should take
careful consideration of their location. Make sure to
note the location of lighting fixtures, electrical,
plumbing and any other obstructions.
Amplifier Selection and Wiring
The CL-70v-6UL speaker can be used with a
traditional 8 ohm amplifier, or with a 70V/100V
amplifier. You would typically choose to use an 8
ohm amplifier when the distance to the speakers
are short (less than 50’). You would typically
choose a 70V/100V amplifier when the distance to
the speaker are 50’+, or when you would rather
daisy-chain the speakers instead of wiring each
speaker back to its own amplifier channel.
Each CL-70v-6UL speaker has a switch on the
front for selecting either 8 ohm, or one of several
70V/100V tap settings. When wiring the speaker to
an 8 ohm amplifier always use the 8 ohm setting
on the speaker, to avoid damage to the amplifier.
When using a 70V/100V amplifier, set the switch
position to the desired tap setting. The tap setting
determines how much wattage each pendant will
draw from the amplifier. When daisy-chaining
multiple speakers, add the combined wattages of
all tap settings to determine the wattage draw on
the amplifier. The combined total wattage should
never exceed the wattage rating of the amplifier.
A suspension tab has been
placed on the enclosure
between the speaker
terminals to facilitate an
auxiliary support cable.
NOTE:
IT IS MANDATORY
THAT THIS SECONDARY
SUPPORT BE UTILIZED IN DROP CEILINGS FOR
SAFETY AND SEISMIC CONSIDERATIONS.
