Description

TRUAUDIO’s outdoor speakers bring a whole new

meaning to Outdoor Audio.  Designed exclusively to

handle most any conditions, this series delivers great

sound even in wide-open spaces. Custom-designed

cabinets are made from tough, UV resistant ABS plastic

and are built to take years of all–weather abuse.

Available in either black or white, these speakers can

blend into most any outdoor environment including decks,

patios, pool areas and gardens. With the new Swivot

Technology mounting system you will have additional

flexibility to aim your speaker more precise, also the

wedge shaped cabinet can be mounted either horizontally

or vertically, which makes it easy to tuck the speakers up

and out of the way.  All the models incorporate a two-way

design with polypropylene woofer and soft silk dome

tweeter for clean sound even in the great outdoors. These

speakers also feature aluminum grills, gold binding posts,

brass fittings and can be used with optional ball pivoting

mounts.

Choosing the Speaker Location

The biggest determination of any speaker’s sound quality

is placement.  Making sure you choose the best location

for your speakers will ensure you get great quality sound

outdoor.

For the best stereo sound, separate the speakers by at

least 5 – 6 feet.  By placing the speaker near a wall or

ceiling, you will get an increase in bass.  A corner

placement will deliver even more bass.

Placing your speakers outside under a deck or eve of the

roof reduces exposure to constant sunlight and water.

Mounting the Speakers

Use the supplied Swivot brackets to the mount the

speakers vertically or horizontally on the wall, ceiling or

other surface.  These brackets include holes for mounting

that will fit a variety of hardware.  Different mounting

hardware will be required depending on the surface you

are mounting the speakers on.

First remove the bracket from packaging.  Pull the

speaker wire through the hole in the center of the bracket

and then mount the bracket in the desired location.  Make

sure to mount the bracket with enough space on both

sides to swivel the speaker and level whether vertical or

horizontal. Loosen the two knobs on the bracket to allow

the mount to -20°.   Strip about 3/8” of the

shielding from the end of the speaker wire and attach the

wire to the speaker making sure to observe polarity

(po and negative -).

Attach the speaker to the bracket with the provided

mounted knobs on each end of the speaker, leaving the

speaker loose enough to move.  Swivel the mount to the

desired angle, move speaker up or down to give you

enough space to tighten the two knobs on the mount.

Adjust the speaker to the listening area and then tighten

the knobs on the mount.

Painting the Speakers

All models in this series can be painted to match the

environment.

To paint the cabinet, first remove the grill.  This can be

done with a paper clip or a very small tipped flat

screwdriver.  Mask off the speaker faceplate (where the

woofer and tweeter are mounted) and the speaker

terminals located on the back. Wipe off any dust or dirt

from the cabinet. Apply two coats of primer letting each

coat dry before applying the next coat.  Apply one or two

coats of paint depending on the paint. Once the paint has

dried completely, remove the masking material.

To paint the grill, remove the grill from the speaker.  No

primer coat is needed.  If using think paint, try to thin the

paint so it does not clog the holes in the grill.  Let the paint

dry completely.  Re-insert the grill on the speaker face.

Maintenance

This speaker requires very little maintenance.

Occasionally wipe off any dust or dirt build up with a

damp, soft cloth.  Avoid spraying a hose directly on the

speaker.
