EN 8 Operating manual – oil heater IDX 30 D
Errors and faults
The device has been checked for proper functioning several
times during production. If malfunctions occur nonetheless,
check the device according to the following list.
Error Cause Remedy
The device starts running, but switches
off again after a brief period.
The operating light flashes. Incorrect pressure at the pump Check the pressure at the pump and adjust it if necessary,
see chapter Adjusting the air pressure for the pump.
Dirty air filters Clean and replace air filters if necessary, see chapter
Cleaning air filters and fan.
Dirty fuel filter Please contact the customer service.
Dirty injection nozzle Please contact the customer service.
Dirty photo cell Please contact the customer service.
Incorrectly installed photo cell Please contact the customer service.
Defective photo cell Please contact the customer service.
Faulty electrical connection between photo cell and
mainboard Please contact the customer service.
The fan is running, but the device does
not start.
The operating light flashes. No fuel in the tank Check the filling level of the tank. Refill fuel if the tank is
empty (see chapter Filling the tank).
Incorrect pressure at the pump Check the pressure at the pump and adjust it if necessary,
see chapter Adjusting the air pressure for the pump.
Corroded / dirty ignition electrodes Please contact the customer service.
Incorrect distance between ignition electrodes Please contact the customer service.
Dirty fuel filter Please contact the customer service.
Dirty injection nozzle Please contact the customer service.
Moisture in tank or fuel Please contact the customer service.
Faulty electrical connection between transformer and
mainboard Please contact the customer service.
Faulty electrical connection at the ignition electrodes
Defective ignition Please contact the customer service.
The fan does not start, even though the
device is connected and switched on.
The operating light flashes. Thermostat setting is too low Turn up the thermostat setting.
Faulty electrical connection between engine and
mainboard Please contact the customer service.
Unclean combustion Dirty air filters Check the pressure at the pump and adjust it if necessary,
see chapter Adjusting the air pressure for the pump.
Dirty fuel filter Please contact the customer service.
Low-quality fuel Completely drain the fuel, see chapter Draining the tank.
Refill new fuel, see chapter Filling the tank.
Incorrect pressure at the pump Check the pressure at the pump and adjust it if necessary,
see chapter Adjusting the air pressure for the pump.
The device does not start.
The operating light is not illuminated. Safety thermostat tripped due to overheating Switch the device off and let it cool down for at least
10 min.
No power supply Check the power connection.
Check the power cable and mains plug for damages.
Defective fusing Please contact the customer service.
Faulty electrical connection between safety thermostat
and mainboard Please contact the customer service.
Smoke and/or sparks are emitted during
first use. Initial start-up This is not a fault. These phenomena disappear after a
brief runtime.
Noise emission during ignition or cooling. The metal parts of the device expand when heated and
generate noise
This is not a fault.
Sparks and/or flame may be issued from
the device during ignition. Air might have accumulated in the lines. This is not a fault.
