Troubleshooting
Although
Bluetooth
wireless technology
provides a convenient way to connect
multiple devices together, it depends on
all devices transmitting reliably and
interpreting
each other’s signals
correctly. This chapter makes
suggestions for resolving any issues
that may arise.
If devices fail to connect or features do
not work as expected, first check that
they are all set up and configured
correctly (see page
14).
Failed Pairing
If device pairing is unsuccessful:
1. Check that the device is
discoverable.
This may be indicated by a message
on the display of a device such as a
phone, or through a sequence of
flashing lights on a device such as a
headset.
2. Change the position of the device,
ensuring a clear line of sight to your
motorcycle.
3. Turn the ignition off and on.
4. Repeat the pairing process.
Refer to the manufacturers’ user
manuals to locate relevant settings on
your devices.
Phone Functions
If you cannot make an outgoing call,
stop the motorcycle safely and check
that the phone has a signal.
If phone-based information is not being
shared, check the settings on your
phone. The phone may be denying
access to contact details, messages and
call lists, or failing to send notifications
of calls and messages.
If this does not resolve the problem,
switch the ignition off and on. This
breaks and remakes the connection
between
the phone and the
instruments. You can achieve the same
effect by breaking the connection
shown under the
Bluetooth options on
your phone.
