4-4 Mounting (Tower)
Warning: When mounting the UPS system in a tower position, make sure the control panel is closer to the top of the cabinet than the
bottom.
Note: The control panel can be rotated to match the UPS system’s position. Pull the panel out slightly, rotate it and push it back into place.
Tower Mounting Procedure
To mount the module in an upright, tower position, first determine the fitness of the hardware and procedures.
Use the optional two stands

to tower mount the UPS’s power module, a battery module and a
second battery module (9U total).
Adjust the feet to a width of 10.25 inches (26 cm) for a UPS power module and battery module, or to a width of
15.375 inches (39 cm) for three units. Align the feet in your installation area, approximately 10 inches (26 cm) apart.
Have one or more assistants help you place the units on their sides in the feet. The control panel of the UPS should be

5-2 Terminal Block Diagram
• De-energize all input and output (AC and DC) of the UPS system and external battery pack.
• Mark all cables according to their correct purpose, polarity, phase and diameter.
• Review the diagram in
Section 5-2
to familiarize yourself with the terminal block.
• Consult the table in
Section 5-3
to find the correct electrical input/output characteristics for the UPS system, including the required input/
output cabling. (AC cabling is user-supplied; DC cabling is included.)
