DOWNMIXING
Downmixing occurs automatically whenever there is a mismatch between a source and a destination – for example, if you assign
a surround source to a stereo destination in
Min
view, and then switch back to
Full
view, you will see that an automatic routing
has been applied. Wherever there is a summation (e.g. Centre channel to channels Left + Right), downmixing will occur.
The downmix coefficients are identical to those used when downmixing from the SPEAKERS area on the CONTROLLER page (see
Downmixing will also be applied to summations forced manually in
Full
view –for example, if you click on individual crosspoints
to create a manual fold down.
