Monitoring Segment Status LEDs

SEGMENT 1 AUI STATUS INDICATORS

WhenSegment 1 is connected through the AUI connector, the Segment 1
status LEDs indicate AUI network activity.

When a SwitchMaster™ AUI is actively connected to normal mode (half
duplex) Ethernet, the Segment LEDs indicate the following AUI conditions:

illuminated during TRANSMIT

illuminated during RECEIVE

COL

illuminated during COLLISION

LINK

NOT ILLUMINATED (disabled)

When a SwitchMaster™ AUI is actively connected to full duplex Ethernet,
the Segment AUI LEDs indicate the following.

illuminated during TRANSMIT

NOT ILLUMINATED (disabled)

COL

NOT ILLUMINATED (disabled)

LINK

NOT ILLUMINATED (disabled)

NOTE: When neither the Segment 1AUI port nor the Segment 1 RJ-45 port
is used, the Segment 1 LEDs indicate the following.

illuminated during any network activity

NOT ILLUMINATED (disabled)
