EIGHT SEGMENT BRIDGE

1.4 SwitchMaster™ Bridge X Slot Cards

X Slot Cards allow the SwitchMaster™ Bridge to provide additional
segments, including wide area network (WAN) connections.

NOTE: X Slot cards can be installed in the field.

Full Duplex Ethernet X Slot Card

The Full Duplex Ethernet X Slot Card, which provides the functionality of
a redundant Segment 1, is installed at either of the two SwitchMaster™
Bridge X Slot locations.

Connectors

One (1) RJ-45 connector, and one (1) AUI port connector are provided at
the front of the installed Full Duplex Ethernet X Slot Card.

Indicators

When the RJ-45 is connected and the SwitchMaster™ is powered, the Full
Duplex Ethernet X Slot Card status LEDs indicate the RJ-45 connection
status.

When the AUI is connected, the Full Duplex Ethernet X Slot Card status
LEDs indicate AUI network activity.

When the connection over the media is good, the LINK status LED
is illuminated.

When the link is transmitting data, the TX (transmit) status LED is
illuminated.

When the link is receiving data, the RX (receive) status LED is
illuminated.
