MAINTENANCE
Engine - see manual.
Ensure the engine is switched off and the rotor has stopped turning.
Check the belt tension after the first 10 hours and then every 50
hours.
Check and grease hydraulic roller guides and hammer mill shaft
bearings every 50 hours.
Check tyre pressures regularly - 35 psi.
Lubricate wheel bearings every 6 months.
Check brakes every 12 months or 6,000 miles (whichever comes
first).
Check condition of hammers for sharpness every 6 months, or
sooner if performance starts to fade.
CLEARING THE
HAMMER MILL
(Fig. 2)
Should the machine be completely overloaded and the hammer mill
get jammed up with unprocessed material, it will be necessary to
open up the mill housing. This can only be done with the use of
tools and should only be undertaken by a competent person.
SWITCH OFF THE ENGINE AND ENSURE THE HAMMER
MILL HAS STOPPED TURNING.
Remove the four nuts holding the mill housing plate. Undo the two
side latches and lower the whole housing plate down to open up the
shredding mill and hammer assembly. Clean out the housing with a
stick or brush. DO NOT put hands into the hammer assembly as
the blades have sharp edges and may cause injury.
Once cleaning is completed, raise the housing plate and latch into
place. Re-fit the nuts retaining the housing plate and tighten.
TOWING
(Fig.1)
Raise the rear stabiliser and lock into place.
Check operation of jockey wheel and that it is raised before towing.
Check lighting board operation.
