RAV4’s new platform and new suspension
enables excellent driving comfort and
handling performance.
Increased tyre grip and steadier cornering, along
with significantly less vibration, are achieved
through a double-wishbone shaped rear
suspension and MacPherson struts in the front
suspension, which have been comprehensively
redesigned in every detail. In addition, the shock
absorber of the rear suspension is positioned
diagonally under the floor resulting in a 230 mm
wider luggage area.
The advanced new suspension combines with
the Integrated Active System to offer meticulous
handling and matchless ride comfort – no matter
what the road conditions.

(DAC) controls the wheel speed
when you’re on a steep descent
by automatically braking
and releasing each wheel
accordingly.
Oversteering correction
To prevent oversteering, which causes the rear
to swing away, RAV4’s Integrated Active Drive
System distributes more drive force to the front
wheels, provides steering torque assistance
to keep the vehicle stable, and improves
acceleration performance.
Understeering correction
To counteract understeer, which causes
the front of the vehicle to drift away,
Integrated Active Drive System supplies
more power to the rear wheels, provides
steering torque assistance to keep you on
track, and enhances acceleration.
