1 . WARM UP E NG I NE

Allow the engine to warm up to normal operating temperature.

2 . CO NNE CT HAND -- HE LD TE S T E R

(a)

Connect the hand--held tester to the DLC3.

(b)

Please refer to the hand--held tester operator’s manual
for further details.

3 . CO NNE CT TI MI NG LI G HT TO E NG I NE

Connect the tester probe of a timing light to the No.1 high--ten-
sion cord for No.4 cylinder.

4. CHECK IDLE SPEED

(See page EM -- 18)

6. INSPECT IGNITION TIMING

(a)

Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the
DLC3.

(b)

Using a timing light, check the ignition timing.

Ignition timing:

(Transmission in neutral position)

(c)

Remove the SST from the check connector.
