4) Electrical and battery safety
a. Avoid dangerous environment. Do not use the tool in damp or wet locations
or expose it to rain. If water enters the tool, it will increase the risk of electric
shock.
b. Avoid unintentional starting. Make sure the switch is in the off position before
connecting to the battery pack, picking up or transporting the machine.
c. Disconnect the battery pack from the machine before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the machine. These preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of the machine starting accidentally.
d. Use only specifically designated battery packs. Charge only with the charger
specified by the manufacturer. An unsuitable charger can create a fire hazard.
e. When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects
that can make a connection from one terminal to another.
f. Under abusive conditions, fluid can be expelled from the battery; avoid
contact. If it comes into contact with the eyes, seek medical help. Liquid
expelled from the battery can cause irritation or burns.
g. Do not use a battery pack or machine that is damaged or modified. Damaged
or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire,
explosion, or risk of injury.
h. Do not expose the battery pack or machine to fire or excessive temperatures.
Exposure to fire or temperatures above 130°C (265°F) may cause an
explosion.
i. Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery or machine
outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Improper
charging or charging at temperatures outside the specified range may
damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
j. Do not modify or attempt to repair the machine or battery pack except as
directed in the use and care instructions.
k. Do not open or cut batteries. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may
damage eyes or skin. May be toxic if ingested.
l. Do not charge the battery in the rain or in damp places.
