9 Hold the memory module by its edges so that the gold
connector bar faces the slot, fit the module into the
socket.
10 Gently press down on the memory module connector
until the clips snap into place.
Do not force the memory module into position. The
memory module should be level when secured in place.

The clips on either side of the module clicks to secure the
memory module.
Avoid touching the connectors on the memory module or on the
computer. Grease or dust on the connectors may cause memory
access problems.
11 Replace the memory module slot cover and secure it to
the computer with the screw.
12 Turn the computer over and reconnect any cables you
removed.
13 Restart the computer.
14 To verify that the computer correctly recognizes the
memory module:

Click Start, then click Control Panel.
❖
Click Performance and Maintenance.
❖
Click System.
❖
The General tab view automatically appears and
shows the recognized memory.
