AUDIOCODES
MEDIANT1000 T1

This section is for setting up an AudioCodes Mediant 1000 as a T1
gateway.

Refer to

“BASIC CONFIGURATION” on page Chapter 12 –-13

for the

administrative and software version setup.

MEDIANT 1000
CONFIGURATION

1. Log into the AudioCodes gateway.

2. Click on

Configuration

3. Select the

FULL

radio button.

4. Select

PSTN Settings > Trunk Settings

In the Protocol Type field select

T1 CAS

Click on the

Apply Trunk Setting

button (A screen alert may pop up

to inform you must reboot.)

5. Click on the

BURN

icon at the top of the screen. A Green light may

appear on the screen or T1 port after reset to indicate Layer 1 and
Layer 2 are up.

6. Select

Device Actions > Reset

(at top of screen)

7. Click on the

Reset

button next to “Reset Board.”

8. Select

PROTOCOL CONFIGURATION > TRUNK GROUP > TRUNK

GROUP

. Set the following:

Trunk Group Index =1
Module = Module 1 PRI
From Trunk =1
To Trunk =1
Channel 1-8 (or how big your card is)
Trunk Group ID = 1

9. Select

PROTOCOL CONFIGURATION > TRUNK GROUP > TRUNK

GROUP SETTINGS

. Set the following:

Trunk Group ID = 1
Channel Select Mode = Ascending

10. Select

PROTOCOL CONFIGURATION > PROTOCOL DEFINITION

> SIP GENERAL PARAMETERS

Fax signaling method = G711 Transport

11. Select

PROTOCOL CONFIGURATION > PROTOCOL DEFINITION

> DTMF & DIALING

Declare 2833 in SDP = Yes
1st tx DTMF Opt = RFC2833
Max Digits = 11
Interdigit =1 (could set longer if customer dials slowly)

12. Select

PROTOCOL CONFIGURATION > PROXY, REGISTRATION

IP GROUPS > PROXIES & REGISTRATION

Use default proxy group = yes
Redundancy mode = Homing

13. Select

PROTOCOL CONFIGURATION > CODERS AND PROFILE

DEFINITIONS > CODERS

Set the Media Setting to G711u-law and G729.
Set P-time be set to 20.
