5.5 External Connections
Typical external connections to the G1IF4 unit are shown in Appendix C.
100Base-TX and 100Base-FX for LAN I/F connections are made with RJ45 and SC connectors
respectively. When handling fibre optic cables for 100Base-FX, care should be taken so as not to
cause damage by rough treatment or by exceeding the minimum bend radius of the fibre.
The RS485 interface connection is made with the terminal block TB4.
The power supply and safety earth connections should be made with P, N and E terminal.
Releasing Socket Connector of Terminal Block
The socket connector (cable side) of the terminal block is releasable for maintenance, etc.
When releasing it or inserting it, proceed as follows:
When releasing it: Never pull the connected wire(s). Release the socket connector using the
top and bottom release levers.
When inserting it: Set the socket connector with the unit side connector surely, and clamp
the catches of the top and bottom release levers.
