Communicate with your office’s local area network (LAN), or
a larger corporate wide area network (WAN).
For specific information about connecting to a LAN or WAN,
consult your network administrator.

Send a fax directly from your computer.
TECHNICAL NOTE: Windows 98 Second Edition does not
support fax capability.
Connecting to a phone line
Before you can communicate using the modem, you need to
connect it to a telephone line. Your computer’s built-in modem
provides an RJ11 jack, allowing you to connect the modem to a
standard voice-grade telephone line.

Plug one end of the telephone cable into the modem jack on
the right side of the computer.
Connecting the telephone cable to the RJ11 modem jack

Connect the other end to the wall jack.
