Installing a memory module
You install additional memory modules into the memory
expansion slots on the base of the computer. You will need a small
Phillips screwdriver for this procedure.
Preparing to install with Windows 95/Windows 98
Before you can install a memory module, you must first shut
down the computer. To shut down and turn off the computer in
Windows 95/Windows 98:

Press
Fn
and
F3
simultaneously to display the Resume Mode
pop-up window.

If Resume Mode is on, hold
Fn
and press
F3
until
Boot Mode
is selected.

Release
Fn
.
The Resume Mode pop-up window disappears.

Click
Start
, then click
Shut Down
.
Windows displays the Shut Down Windows dialog box.

Select
Shut down the computer
, then click
Yes
or
OK
, as
appropriate.
Windows shuts down and automatically turns off the
computer.
Preparing to install with Windows NT
Before you can install a memory module, you must first shut
down the computer.
To shut down and turn off the computer in Windows NT:

Click
Start
then click
Shut Down
.
Windows NT 4.0 displays the Shut Down Windows dialog
box.
