4.1.3 Foreseeable misuse
Use other than, or going beyond, that defined in "Intended use" is deemed to be
unintended use. The operator bears the sole responsibility for damage arising from
unintended use, and the manufacturer accepts no liability whatsoever.
Amongst others, the following are deemed to be unintended use:
■
Permanent contact with water.
■
The use of cable sets which do not have a battery master switch or sufficient
fuses (exception: original cable set of the Cruise 10.0).
■
Parallel connection without a network or Torqeedo Gateway.
■
The use of the charger for the Power 26 or Power 24 batteries.
4.1.4 Before use
■
The Power 48-5000 and the chargers may be operated only by adults who have
been instructed in their operation. Comply with the relevant national regulations.
■
The boat builder, dealer, or vendor provides training in the operation and safety
provisions of the Power 48-5000.
■
Before each use, test the condition and functioning of the Power 48-5000.
4.1.5 General safety information
DANGER!
Risk of fatal electric shock!
Contact with uninsulated or damaged parts can result in death or severe
physical injuries.
■
Do not undertake any repair work whatsoever on the system yourself.
■
Never touch frayed or severed wiring, or obviously defective components.
■
If you suspect a problem, switch off the system immediately, and do not
touch any metal components.
■
Prevent the electronic components from coming into contact with water.
■
Avoid applying strong mechanical force to the batteries and cables of the
system.
■
During installation and dismantling, always switch the system off at the main
switch.
DANGER!
Danger to life from fire!
The use of unsuitable cable sets can lead to fire.
■
Exclusively use cables with appropriate cable cross-sections when connecting
other loads.

Danger to life from fire!
Charging damaged batteries can lead to fire.
■
Never charge damaged batteries.
DANGER!
Risk of explosion from flammable gases, solvents, and vapours.
Death or severe physical injuries may result.
■
Do not use the system inear flammable gases, solvents, or vapours.
