6. Install the grass catcher; refer to Installing the
Grass Catcher (page 19) .
Note:
The mower does not operate unless the
grass catcher is installed.
Adjusting the Full-Bag
Indicator Switch
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch, and engage the parking
brake.
2. Shut off the machine and remove the key.
3. Remove the grass catcher; refer to Removing
the Grass Catcher (page 18) .
4. Extend the lever to increase the sensitivity of the
switch; shorten it to decrease the sensitivity.

During Operation
Starting the Machine
1. Sit on the operator’s seat.
2. Disengage the parking brake.
3. Ensure that the blade-control switch (PTO) is
disengaged.
4. Ensure that the drive-mode switch is in the
N
EUTRAL
position.
5. Turn the key switch to the O
N
position.
Driving the Machine
Note:
Always use caution when backing up and
turning.
1. Move the drive-mode switch to the F
ORWARD
or
R
EVERSE
position.
2. Place your foot on the traction-control pedal and
slowly press it to start driving.
Note:
The farther you press the pedal, the
faster the machine moves.
3. Release the traction-control pedal and slowly
press the brake pedal to stop or slow the
machine.
Note:
Stop the machine before changing
direction to forward or reverse.
Shutting Off the Machine
1. Park the machine on a level surface.
2. Disengage the mower blades.
3. Engage the parking brake.
4. Turn the key switch to the O
FF
position and
remove the key.
