4.
IGNITION: Must be in “
ON
” position to start.
“
OFF
” to
stop.
5.
Open fuel shut-off valve. Move choke control to CHOKE
or CLOSED position.
Rewind Starter: Grasp rope handle and pull slowly until
resistance is felt to prevent kickback. Then pull cord
rapidly to overcome compression, and start engine.
When the engine is running, move the choke control to
the OPEN position. Allow the engine to run for
approximately 1 minute.
6.
CUTTING DRUM
. The cutting drum will not move until
the engine speed is increased. Slowly move the throttle
lever from SLOW to FAST. This will engage the centrifugal
clutch and the cutting drum will start rotating. Allow the
drum to reach full speed before feeding any branches
into the chipper.
7.
DISCHARGE CHUTE
. Position the discharge chute to
throw the material in the desired direction. Remove the
discharge chute pin from the positioning hole, turn the
chute to the desired position and place the pin back into
the locking hole.
The discharge chute is fitted with a deflector at the end
of the chute, this can be positioned to deflect the
material further or closer to the chipper.
8.
FEED HOPPER
. All material is fed into the infeed hopper
for chipping. Branches over 50mm should be fed into the
chipper one at a time. Foliage or smaller branches can be
pushed through the chipper using the next branch.
BE
SAFE, KEEP YOUR HANDS AWAY FROM THE CHIPPING
BLADES.
9.
CAUTION
: IF THE CHIPPER IN FEED HOPPER
OR DISCHARGE CHUTE BECOMES CLOGGED
WITH MATERIAL, STOP THE ENGINE
IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT CLUTCH DAMAGE.
10.
Do not allow an accumulation of processed material to
build up in the infeed hopper as this may prevent
material of being fed through and may slow down the
chipping process.
11.
NEVER ALLOW YOUR HANDS OR ANY PART
OF YOUR BODY OR CLOTHING INSIDE THE
INFEED HOPPER OR DISCHARGE CHUTE
.
12.
Always stand clear of the discharge area when the
chipper is running. Never enter or reach into this area.
13.
Keep you face and body clear of the feed hopper to avoid
being struck by any material that may bounce back.
14.
Never overreach when feeding the chipper, keep proper
balance and footing, while keeping the operator zone
clear of clutter or tripping hazards.
15.
EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH
. The emergency stop switch
is located on the side of the infeed hopper. In an
emergency this switch can be pushed to stop the engine.
To deactivate the stop switch, twist and pull the red cap.
16.
STOP ENGINE
: When the work is completed, slowly
move the throttle lever from the FAST to SLOW position.
When the cutting drum has slowed down, turn the
ignition to the
“
OFF
”
position.
17.
WARNING
. Always make sure the cutting drum
has come to a complete stop before moving
the chipper.
AFTER USE
1.
Return the discharge chute to the storage position,
pointing towards the infeed hopper. Ensure the locking
pin is placed back into position.
2.
Turn the fuel tap to the
“
OFF
”
position.
3.
Allow the chipper to cool down. Wash any dirt from the
chipper. Ensure no water enters the air filter or
carburettor.
4.
Check for any loose bolts, or damage to the chipper.
