High/Low Transmission – Disassembly

High/Low Transmission – Disassembly

Take out the bolt holding the Gear Selector

Sprocket onto the Shift Drum Shaft. Remove the
nut on the shift arm and using special puller
(Tomcar Part: TM50175) remove the pie shaped
gear. Remove the selector sprocket and the key.

Take out the bolt holding the Gear Selector

Sprocket onto the Shift Drum Shaft. Remove the
nut on the shift arm and using special puller
(Tomcar Part: TM50175) remove the pie shaped
gear. Remove the selector sprocket and the key.

Remove the shift bracket from the transmission
case by unbolting the 4 small bolts on the left
side case and the 3 case bolts that attach it to

the case.

Remove the drain plug using a 22mm wrench
and drain all of the gear oil from the
transmission.

Remove the remaining 17 case bolts that hold

the two halves of the transmission case together.

The top and bottom bolts have 11mm heads and
are special bolts that must be installed in their
original location upon reassembly.
