GENERAL OPERATION
Starting the Engine
1.
WARNING
Do not operate the Power Ox 240B in an
enclosed area. Exhaust gas contains carbon
monoxide gas that can build up to dangerous
levels in enclosed areas. Breathing carbon
monoxide can cause unconsciousness or death.
Ensure that the power unit is parked on a level
surface.
2. Ensure that a tool or implement is installed in
the hitch receiver.
3. Ensure that the drive control handles are disen-
gaged.

Move the fuel shutoff lever (A) to the on position.

To start a cold engine move the choke control
lever (B) to the closed position. To restart a
warm engine, leave the choke in the open posi-
tion.
6. Move the throttle lever (C) about 1/3 of the way to
the MAX position.

7. Turn the engine switch (D) to the ON position.

Firmly hold the starter cord handle. Pull the
starter grip lightly until resistance is felt, then pull
rapidly. Return the starter grip gently.
9. Gradually move the choke lever to the open
position as the engine warms up.
Stopping the Engine
1. Move the throttle lever to the MIN position.
2. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
3. Move the fuel valve lever to the OFF position.
Setting Engine Speed
1. Adjust the throttle lever to the desired engine
speed.
