CONFIGURATION COMMANDS
The Imola ISDN interface can be used to activate temporary communication circuits between two
terminal points (for example between 2 Imola boxes). The configuration is based on dialer maps.
A
dialer map
is a logic interface which allows a connection (incoming or outgoing) with a remote
user.
Factory configuration of Imola includes 2 dialer maps:
ippp0
accepts incoming calls
ippp1
allows outgoing calls
Outgoing calls can be made either automatically or manually. Automatic calling allows Imola to act
as a
dial on demand router
.
The basic parameters required for dialer map configuration are:
call handling, either incoming or outgoing (in the former case the dialer only accepts
incoming calls, in the latter case the dialer only allows outgoing calls)
method for making outgoing calls, either automatic or manual
telephone number (for outgoing calls)
login and password for authentication of outgoing calls
login and password for authentication of incoming calls
In order to make automatic outgoing calls an IP interface must be configured and associated with
the
outgoing dialer map
.
Outgoing calls will be activated only when the routing process discovers packets ready for
transmission on ISDN interface.
The configuration of a dialer map (for example
dialer ippp0
) which only accepts incoming calls
can be set using the following commands:
set isdn dialer ippp0 eaz all
set isdn dialer ippp0 in-number <value> [<value>]
set isdn dialer ippp0 accept-remote-ip
set isdn dialer ippp0 dialmode manual
set ppp login <user> password <password>
set isdn dialer ippp0 on
The command
set isdn dialer ippp0 eaz <all|number>
sets the telephone number for incoming connections: only incoming calls to this number will be
accepted. The value
all
allows calls to
any
number.
If a non-existent telephone number (e.g. 999999) is configured, the dialer map will reject all the
incoming calls.
set isdn dialer ippp0 in-number <value> [<value>]
