Definition

Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) is a standard protocol for handling the 
signalling and session management needed during a multimedia conference.

MGCP can be used to:

calls between multiple endpoints.

The Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) is an IETF defined protocol for 
controlling Media Gateways (MGs) from external call elements called Media
