INDICATION FOR USE
This smart charger is a component of the
ViVi®
System, to be used by healthcare
professionals outside of the patient environment to charge the Battery Pack HW
REF 60402.

None known.

Use this smart charger to charge the Battery Pack HW REF 60402.
USER/ PATIENT SAFETY
WARNINGS:

This battery charger may not be located in the vicinity of a patient. In
accordance with requirements defined in EN60601-1-1, the horizontal
distance to a patient must be at least 1.5 m, the vertical at least 2.5 m.
•
Use the battery charger only in dry indoor environments! Wet and moisture
covered products should not be used!
•

This product has been tested and found to comply
with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC
Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates,
uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio
communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not
occur in a particular installation.

HOW TO USE
MAKING CONNECTIONS
1. Connect the cable from the power supply to the battery charger.
2. Connect the power cable to the power supply and plug it into the mains socket.
3. The charger does perform as self test. After completion, the LED is going out.
The battery charger is ready for use.
4. If a red LED remains on and no battery is in the charging bay, the battery
charger is defective.
CHARGING
1. Connect the battery charger as described above.
2. Place a discharged Battery Pack into the battery charger.
3. The battery charger runs a battery recognition and initialization cycle. LED’s
might go on and off during this cycle.
4. The battery will be charged. Leave the battery until the solid green LED
appears.
NOTE:
We recommend leaving the battery pack in the charging bay if it is
intended for use.
CLEANING
1. Unplug the power supply from the mains socket.
2. Wipe the battery charger and the power supply with a soft cloth dampened
with a non-abrasive hospital disinfectant. Follow applicable hospital protocol for
cleaning.
3. Dry with a lint-free towel or medical-grade compressed air.

The battery is not recognized as Smart Battery. Either a
conventional battery has been inserted or an extremely
discharged Smart Battery. If it is a Smart Battery, it will be
reactivated within 15 minutes and recharged. If it is not the
case, the LED with turn to solid red – see below.
Orange blinking
The battery is currently being calibrated.
Solid Orange
The inserted battery is the correct type and is currently being
charged.
Solid Green
The battery is fully charged and can be removed for use.
Red blinking
The battery is too hot or too cold to be charged without
damage. If the battery is too cold it will be charged as soon as it
is warmed up sufficiently. If the battery is too hot it should be
removed to cool down.
Solid Red
Either:

The battery is badly damaged and needs to be replaced or
•
it is a conventional battery which can not be charged
