6.5.2.2 Turning off the Lamps
UV Lamp
You can turn off the UV lamp using the UV button on the keypad of the
device or using Chromeleon (see Important Operating Parameters
( } page 95) ). It is not possible to turn the UV lamp off or on during data
acquisition.
NOTICE
Turning on and off the UV lamp too often can reduce the lifetime of the
UV lamp.
• Do not turn off the UV lamp if you intend to use the detector again
within 24 hours. If you want to use the detector the next day, leave
the UV lamp turned on and operate the detector with a flow rate of
0.05 mL/min.
• If the detector is not used for a longer time (for example, over the
weekend), turn off the UV lamp to save lamp life time and energy.
VIS Lamp
You can turn off the VIS lamp using the VIS button on the keypad of the
detector or using Chromeleon (see Important Operating Parameters
( } page 95) ). It is not possible to turn the VIS lamp off or on during data
acquisition.
NOTICE
Turning on and off the VIS lamp too often can reduce the lifetime of the
VIS lamp.
• Do not turn off the VIS lamp if you intend to use the detector again
within 3 hours. If you want to use the detector within this time span,
leave the VIS lamp turned on and operate the detector with a flow
rate of 0.05 mL/min.
• If the detector is not used for a longer time (for example, one day),
turn off the VIS lamp to save lamp life time and energy.
