Procedure

This test takes 25 to 30 minutes to complete, but you can cancel before it is complete.

WARNING! 

PHYSICAL INJURY HAZARD.

 Hot Surface. Use care when working around the heated

cover and sample block(s) to avoid being burned.

1.

In the 

Main Menu

 screen, select 

Tools Menu

.

2.

In the 

Tools Menu

 screen, select 

Run Temperature Verification

.

3.

Follow the instructions on the screen to perform the test.

4.

At the end of the test, select:

•

Print

 to print the results.

•

Save

 to save the results to the USB drive.

The results are saved to the file bcalevents.txt.

5.

If the test fails, repeat the procedure. Ensure the:

• Probe is placed in the correct wells during the test.
• A drop of mineral oil is in each of the test wells.
• Cables are not damaged (no nicks, cuts or crimps) and are securely seated in the digital

thermometer and in the instrument.

• Results are saved or printed.

6.

If the test fails again, contact Technical Support.

Running the temperature nonuniformity test

Use this test to verify that the sample well temperatures are within the threshold temperature range.

Required materials

The appropriate Temperature Verification Kit for your Veriti

™

 Thermal Cycler model (see table).

Procedure

This test takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete, but you can cancel before it is complete.
