Thermo Electron

Array Calibration

The Array Calibration read-back displays the current array calibration
status. The possible states are: Valid or Not Valid. If the status of the
array calibration is Not Valid, you must either perform a new
wavelength calibration or reset the calibration to its default setting.

Method

The Method read-back displays the status of the current method. The
possible values are Valid or Not Valid. If the value is Not Valid, you
must download a method.

Filter Wheel

The Filter Wheel read-back displays the status of the Holmium Oxide
wavelength calibration filter wheel. The possible states are Open and
Filter. Open corresponds to position 1 and Filter corresponds to
position 2.

Lamps Group Box

The Deuterium State read-back displays the status of the deuterium
lamp (D

2

). The possible states are: On, Starting, Off, Failed, or

Unknown. The deuterium lamp takes approximately 30 seconds to
ignite and approximately 60 minutes to warm-up.

The Tungsten State read-back displays the status of the tungsten lamp
(W). The possible states are: On, Starting, Off, Failed, or Unknown.

Channel A/B/C

The status for the discrete wavelength channels can be displayed in
either the absorbance mode or the intensity mode. The mode option is
selected from the Display page.

The Wavelength (nm) read-back displays the current wavelength
setting and the Diode (number) read-back displays the current diode
number setting for the respective channel.

The Abs. (mAU) read-back displays the absorbance value for a
specific wavelength setting and the Int. (Counts) read-back displays
the current intensity value a specific diode number.

THE OPERATION
PAGE

The Operation page allows you to monitor detector output when data
is not being acquired, for example, when the Instrument status is Idle.
See Figure 5.20.
