The window optimizer was created in part to avoid cases where the number of compounds
and the width of SRM acquisition windows requested are incompatible with the number of
points requested per peak. Although using the window optimizer will avoid most of these
problems, extreme cases still exist where your method will fail to validate. In these cases, you
can fix this by reducing the desired scans across the peak, reducing the number of scan events,
or, if the window optimizer is not selected, by reducing the acquisition windows.
If your method will not validate, a red error icon appears in the Scans pane and an error
message that reads Contains Segments with Insufficient Time for All Scans Required
appears if you try to save the method. Figure 84 illustrates an unvalidated method.
