Protein concentration.
Reported in selected unit (mg/mL or μg/mL).
Calculations are based on Beer-Lambert equation using corrected
protein absorbance value.

A260/A280 purity ratio
. Ratio of corrected absorbance at 260 nm to
corrected absorbance at 280 nm. An A260/A280 purity ratio of ~0.57
is generally accepted as “pure” for proteins.
Note
: Although purity ratios are important indicators of sample quality,
the best indicator of protein quality is functionality in the downstream
application of interest (e.g., real-time PCR).
