ISQ EC and ISQ EM Mass Spectrometer Operating Manual

Symptom 

Cause 

Reference solution not 
flowing down the drain or 
flowing too slowly during fill 
time 

The small orifice on the top of the calibrant bottle may be clogged.   

Reference solution does not 
stop flowing after fill time 

The bottle is not depressurizing.  The frit on the valve of the calibrant delivery 
system may be clogged.  This valve is located on the gas control module under the 
main power supply inside of the instrument. 

Reference solution does not 
stop flowing after fill time 

The waste line may be inserted too far down the drain tube.  This will cause the 
liquid to be siphoned from the bottle.
