Parameter Description
Status window
Indicates whether the system is ready to operate. Status window will
show as “busy” while the instrument is in acquisition mode
Instrument
connect Enables direct software control over the MS instrument. This can be
toggled “on” or “off” with the slide bar.
Real time scan
Feature that allows user to immediately trigger acquisition mode. A
new window will appear with real-time scanning data and ability to
adjust instrument parameters.
Manual tune
This mode is for service engineers to set up the instrument. Do not
use this mode for other purposes.
Sheath gas
pressure status Displays the main nitrogen gas pressure used for desolvation/
nebulization.
Sweep gas
pressure status Counter-flow gas pressure coming out of sweep cone. Used for dirtier
sample matrices and more complex mobile-phase compositions
Aux gas
pressure status Gas flow around the outside of the spray needle. This gas can be
heated to aid in desolvation
Vaporizer temp
status Heat applied to aux gas to aid in desolvation
Ion transfer
tube temp
status Heat applied to the ion transfer tube, which carries ions into the ion
optics. Used to further desolvate the ions
Source voltage
status Voltage applied to ESI capillary for ionization
Source current
status Current of the source voltage
Chromatogram
window This window will activate with the real-time data display during
acquisition mode or during an automated batch sequence
Foreline
pressure status Foreline pump pressure
