N4100+ simple diagnosis flowchart
1. Purpose: to provide end users and customers a simple and quick procedure to identify
which part failed in N4100+.
2. Procedure
2-0. Don’t insert any HDDs into the N4100+ system. Attach the power cord and then reset the
IP address and admin password to the default settings.
a) Power on the N4100+ and immediately press the Reset button for 30 seconds.
b) This resets the N4100+ to its default IP address and password settings.
Default IP: 192.168.1.100
Default admin password: admin
2-1. Insert at least one HDD into the N4100+ system, attach the power cord and connect the
LAN cable between N4100+ WAN port and a PC or NB. Don’t use a HUB.
2-2. Turn on the N4100+ system and check the front panel LED behavior. The power LED
should glow blue after power button pressed. About 50~60 seconds later, the busy LED
starts blinking orange for around 20 seconds. If the power LED glows blue but the busy
LED never blinks, the firmware may be corrupted during improper firmware upgrade
procedures. It means the motherboard doesn’t work any more and need to be repaired.
2-3. Set the IP address of a PC or NB as 192.168.1.111, and then access the login webpage.
Make sure the N4100+ and the PC or NB is directly connected through a LAN cable, not
through a HUB or a router.
2-4. Check if the Admin login webpage shows up and works fine. Then check if the system
status is normal and HDD power LED works fine. In case the results are positive, it
means the N4100 system is OK. Otherwise, the N4100+ is damaged.
2-4-1. Since press the reset button during booting process, and N4100+’s WAN IP address
will be set to 192.168.1.100 temporarily. At this time all the file services will be stopped.
When you point your browser to 192.168.1.100, you will see the following screen.
