N3200 simple diagnosis flowchart
1. Purpose: to provide end users and customers a simple and quick procedure to identify
which part failed in N3200.
2. Procedure
2-0. Don’t insert any HDDs into the N3200 system. Attach the power cord and then reset the
IP address and admin password to the default settings.
a) Power on the N3200 and immediately press the Reset button for 30 seconds.
b) This resets the N3200 to its default IP address and password settings.
Default IP: 192.168.1.100
Default admin password: admin
2-1. Without insert any HDD into the N3200 system, attach the power cord and connect the
LAN cable between N3200
WAN
port and a PC or NB. Don’t use a HUB.
2-2. Turn on the N3200 system and check the front panel LCD message. The LCD should
showing BOOTING after power button pressed, about 50~60 seconds later with a
beeping for system booting successfully. If without this beeping sounds, the firmware
may be corrupted during improper firmware upgrade procedures. It means the
motherboard doesn’t work any more and need to be repaired.
2-3. Set the IP address of a PC or NB as 192.168.1.111, and then access the login webpage.
Make sure the N3200 and the PC or NB is directly connected through a LAN cable, not
through a HUB or a router.
2-4. Check if the Admin login webpage shows up and works fine. Then check if the system
status is normal and insert a HDD to verify HDD LED works fine. In case the results are
positive, it means the N3200 system is OK. Otherwise, the N3200 is damaged.
2-4-1. Since press the reset button during booting process, and N3200’s WAN IP address will
be set to 192.168.1.100 temporarily. At this time all the file services will be stopped.
When you point your browser to 192.168.1.100, you will see the following screen.
