1. Purpose: to provide end users and customers a simple and quick procedure to identify
which part failed in N2100.
2. Procedure
2-0. Don insert any HDDs into the N2100 system
. Attach the power cord and then reset the
IP address and admin password to the default settings.
a) Power on the N2100 and immediately press the Reset button for 10 seconds.
b) This resets the N2100 to its default IP address and password settings.
Default IP: 192.168.1.100
Default admin password: admin
The reset button is near the LAN connecter.
2-1. Attach the power cord and connect the LAN cable between N2100 and a PC or NB. Don
use a HUB.
2-2. Turn on the N2100 system and check the front panel LED behavior. The power LED
should glow blue after power button pressed. Then the busy LED starts blinking orange
for around 60 seconds. After that, the busy LED goes off. If the busy LED keeps blinking
orange for more than 3 minutes, the firmware may be corrupted during improper
firmware upgrade procedures. It means the motherboard doesn work any more and
need to be repaired.
2-3. Set the IP address of a PC or NB as 192.168.1.111, and then access the login webpage.
Make sure the N2100 and the PC or NB is directly connected through a LAN cable, not
through a HUB or a router.
2-4. Check if the Admin login webpage shows up and works fine. Then check if the system
status is normal and HDD power LED works fine. In case the results are positive, it
means the N2100 system is OK. Otherwise, the N2100 is damaged.
2-4-1. Notice: After the firmware version v2.1.00 or later, press the reset button during booting
process, and N2100 LAN 1 IP address will
be set to 192.168.1.100 temporarily. At this
