If an external modulation source is selected, the SUM 
amplitude is controlled by the ± 5V from the MOD INPUT 
terminal on the rear panel. For example, if the SUM 
amplitude is set to 50%, then the maximum amplitude 
(150% of the carrier ) will be at +5V, and the minimum 
amplitude (50% of the carrier) will be at -5V.
