6.10 Initial Startup and Running In

WARNING
Observe all safety warnings while carrying out inspections and checks.
Wear personal protective equipment.
Shut down the machine when errors occur and investigate the reason. If necessary, contact
Evoquip help desk department for advice to avoid the possibility of danger or damage.
NOTICE
Checks on the machine are crucial during the first week of crushing operation.
The following section must be read and understood before starting the machine. If there are any
doubts, contact EvoQuip help desk department.
• Verify all safety signs are present and readable.
• Ensure all safety guards are in place and secured.
• Check levels of oils are satisfactory.
• Run the machine empty for a short period. Check for abnormal noises, vibration, or excessive
heat from shaft bearings, fluid leaks, and so on.
• All control systems must be checked for full function.
• Each day during the initial days of operation, check the tension of the extraction and Evacuator
belts and adjust if necessary.
• Make sure that the conveyor belts are tracking correctly.
• Check frequently the overall stability of the machine; recheck the level of the machine and move
to level position if necessary.
• Regularly check drive belts to ensure correct tension, particularly during the initial 2 weeks of use.
• Check the alignment and tension of the crusher drive belts daily during the initial days of
operation.
• Avoid overloading the crusher.
• Check for any leaks of lubricants, fuel, water, or hydraulic fluid and rectify immediately.
• Check for any overheating of running parts.
• Avoid overloading the machine by not using small discharge settings during the first few days
of operation.
• Check the quality of the crushed material.
• Check jaw liner retention system.
