OMNIA MPX NODE MANUAL
Network Setup
Network IP addresses and types are configured from the System Setup screen. Click
on NET1 or NET2, depending on which network port you are configuring. MPX Node
responds to pings across your network. You can use pings to determine if an address is
valid and your network is working properly. You can enter values simply by clicking in
the appropriate field and typing your selection. MPX Node will allow you to enter valid
address combinations only. If you make a mistake, press ESC to revert to previous values.
For best results, keep NET1 and NET2 on separate subnets (Note that both interfaces will
utilize the single gateway in the MPX Node).
Net Mode
Sets the port to use a Static IP address, or to be assigned an address by a DHCP server. Use
the drop down menu to select between Static IP and DHCP. Units are shipped from the
factory to use DHCP for ease of setup.
Network Address
Allows you to enter in a Static IP address when Static IP is selected. Most facilities will
want to assign a static IP address to insure predictable routing and addressing.
Network Mask
Allows you to enter a subnet address. In many cases this will be 255.255.255.0. A drop
down menu allows you to select common mask address ranges.
