Installation

Before You Begin

ESD W

ARNING

Use a wrist grounding strap, attached to the grounding jack on the front panel of
the 8820 MSR

unit, when working with the system. Electro-Static Discharge can

seriously damage the printed circuit card assemblies and solid-state components
inside the 8820 MSR.

OTE

Do not apply power to the 8820 MSR until you complete all installation
tasks in this chapter. Be sure that the circuit breakers located at the rear of
the 8820 MSR enclosure are in the OFF position.
