Bottom Track Commands
The H-ADCP uses these commands for “range” to boundary applications. For example, the HADCP is
swept at various tilt angles. The goal is to directly measure the x-sectional area and maximum depth in the
middle of the channel.
The H-ADCP is NOT designed for moving vessel Bottom Track applications.
Available Bottom Track Commands
This section lists the most often used Bottom Track commands.

Bottom Track Command Descriptions
BA - Evaluation Amplitude Minimum
Purpose
Sets the minimum value for valid bottom detection.
Format
BAnnn
Range
nnn = 1 to 255 counts
Default
BA30
Recommended Setting. The default setting for this command is recommended for most
applications.
Description
BA sets the minimum amplitude of an internal bottom-track filter that determines bot-
tom detection. Reducing BA increases the bottom-track detection range, but also may in-
crease the possibility of false bottom detections.
