Setting the Wayfinder to the Factory Defaults
Use the Factory Defaults to ensure all settings on the
Settings
tab are at the default setting.
To set the factory defaults
:
1. Start
Wayfinder Tools
and connect to the Wayfinder DVL.
2. Click the
Reset
button.
3. Click
OK
.
Changing the Wayfinder’s Baud Rate
The Wayfinder default baud rate is 115200. Using 115200 baud will allow for faster pinging. However,
high baud rates are more susceptible to noise and may result in poor communications. The alternative
baud rate is 9600. Using it caps the maximum ping rate at 4 to 6Hz.
To change the Baud rate
:
1. Start
Wayfinder Tools
and connect to the Wayfinder DVL.
2. Click the
Change
button.
3. Depending on what Baud rate is in use, select
Yes
to change to the new Baud rate and click
OK
.
The sample-rate may decrease some operations such as FFT and firmware upload. They will
run slower when using 9600 baud.
